Took him to the vet and he said he'd have to do x-rays to know for sure. But there wasn't really anything he could do. I'd just have to change his work load. Pretty frustrating!

He's gonna be a year next month. Not sure at this point. Will probably have to let the other dog do most of the work which this guy wont be happy about at all!
Just the way he walks, has trouble sitting down, has a hard time when he first gets up, and if I take them and work them hard he will get a limp afterwards.

I did calcium and cod liver oil supplements with some others on my Lab that had severe hip dysplasia as soon as I had the x-rays when he was 2. By 5 years old he almost passed the Penn Hip test with a 47%. He needed 50+%. Wished I started the supplements before he was full grown:( First Vet did not think he'd live to 5 years old:pinch: IMHO start the supplements, keep the weight down, and plenty of light duty exercise, especially swimming. You may yet have plenty of good years:D

I guess for $50 you shouldn't expect a guarantee. Sorry to hear about it, that sucks really bad.

The good news is that a dogs hips do not fully mature until they're about 4-5 years old:) Some pups take longer than others. Check the other threads here about actions to avoid, like jumping out of trucks...
